2008 Jim McDonnell Lake Swim Clinic

The Clinic

There will be one clinic at Lake Audubon which starts at 9 AM.

The clinic will be followed by a one mile swim in the lake. The clinic will cover the basics of open-water swimming and provide a chance to swim in Lake Audubon prior to the official swim on Sunday, May 25, 2008.

Swimmers will become familiar with the swim course. Clinic instructors will provide tips on effective and safe swimming during the one- and two-mile swims. The instructors are experienced swimmers and certified safety instructors.

Participants and Fees

All Clinic Participants:	$10 Online entry will close at midnight on May 1st. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by May 1st. No day of clinic entries allowed.
USMS Registration:	All participants must be registered with the USMS. If you aren't a USMS member, you must purchase a one-event USMS registration for $20. You can also join the USMS online (annual dues are $35-45 depending on locality).

Directions to Lake Audubon

From the Capital Beltway:

Dulles Toll Road (west)

Wiehle Ave. exit

Turn left at the light

Cross over the Wiehle Ave. bridge

Left on Sunrise Valley Drive

Right on South Lakes Drive (second light)

Immediate left on Twin Branches at the next light

Entrance to lake is 1/2 mile on right.

Parking spaces will not be abundant. The easiest solution is to keep driving down Twin Branches until you find a spot.

Registration

Online entry will close at midnight on May 1st.
Mail-in entries must be postmarked by May 1st.
No day of clinic entries allowed.

Water Conditions

Expected water temperature is 66-72 degrees. Daily temperature updates will be posted the week before the clinic.
